 About the role

We’re looking for a proactive and detail-focused Permit to Work Advisor to join our team in a permanent role supporting critical permit-to-work activity in a safety-sensitive Airport environment. This is a great opportunity for someone who has some experience in construction, engineering or similar experience, enjoys the administrative and compliance side of health and safety, is confident in engaging with contractors and site teams. This role is a combination of on-site permit condition inspections and permit administration. You may be a Health and Safety Representative looking to start your career in health and safety.

Your key responsibilities are:

  • Review, assess, and issue Permits to Work (PTW), Ground Penetration Certificates (GPC), Traffic Management Plans (TMP), and overweight/dimension permits
  • Maintaining accurate H&S records, registers, reports and compliance documentation 
  • Provide clear guidance and technical advice to internal and external stakeholders on the requirements, conditions, and controls associated with PTW, GPC, and TMP applications during both the review and issuance stages. 
  • Contribute to the development, review, and improvement of PTW processes, tools, and initiatives
  • Support the wider Health, Safety & Wellbeing team, including assisting with risk assessments, incident reviews, and other safety initiatives that contribute to a strong safety culture across the organisation
What you’ll bring to the role

  To ensure your success in this role, you will need:
  • Previous experience with permits to work; working under a permit to work or issuing permits to work.
  • Previous experience in the construction, engineering or similar industries that use Permits to Work.
  • Health & Safety experience, i.e. Health and Safety Representative, or duties within a previous role.
  • Full New Zealand Driver’s Licence
  • Experience in writing/reviewing of Job Safety Analysis documents or similar
  • Great attention to detail and high standards of accuracy 
  • Experience in building effective and constructive relationships with all stakeholders
