What you will be doing
Join Auckland Airport’s Finance team as a Property & Retail Accountant. In this role you will be supporting Mānawa Bay and the wider Commercial team while broadening your experience across property, retail, leasing, reporting and business partnering.
Working closely with the Property & Commercial and Mānawa Bay Centre teams, you will be a key finance contact for reporting, technical lease-related matters, month-end processes and performance insights across the Manawa Bay portfolio and wider investment property portfolio.
Your key accountabilities will be:
· Prepare monthly management accounts, variance analysis and performance commentary for Mānawa Bay and assigned investment property assets.
· Complete month-end processes, including reconciliations, accruals, journals, rent roll reporting and bank reconciliations.
· Support property and lease accounting, including lease changes, rent reviews, fit out incentives, percentage rent and billing impacts.
· Prepare budgets, forecasts and clear commentary to support planning and decision-making.
· Improve and document finance processes, including JDE real estate accounting and related property finance systems, with continuous improvement at the heart of how you work.

To ensure your success in this role, you will need:
· CA qualified, equivalent qualification, or working towards qualification.
· 3–5 years’ relevant accounting experience, ideally in property, retail, leasing or a shopping centre environment.
· Strong technical accounting skills, including IFRS 16, lease interpretation, and financial reporting impacts.
· Experience with management accounts, reconciliations, budgets, forecasts, analysis and commentary.
· Tech saavy and proficient with accounting ERP systems and reporting tools such as ReportsNow
· A proactive, solutions-focused mindset, with strong stakeholder management skills and the confidence to work independently or collaboratively.
