Auckland Airport is embarking on its biggest infrastructure development programme in the next decade. To support this ambitious programme whilst maintaining good customer experience during the construction phases, the Operations business unit is building a future focused and fit-for-purpose capacity planning function.

 

What you will be doing

It is an exciting time to join our Capacity and Analytics Team to help shape the future of Auckland Airport in this 12-months fixed-term role, which has been created to increase capacity and support the team through this next stage in our development plan. This position has come about due to an internal promotion.

As the Junior Capacity Planner, you will play an integral part in the Capacity team by supporting with the collecting, organising, and analysing of data from a variety of sources to provide meaningful insights as an input into the business strategy development processes. Additionally, you will assist with internal and/or external capacity planning meetings with the PowerPoint presentation slides preparations.

Your key responsibilities are:

  • reconciliation of aircraft movements related information, including daily aircraft parking data validation, for the monthly parking chargesbilling.
  • assist with the maintenance of capacity planning systems, and business rules and parameters.
  • assist with provisioning of data insights for capacity planning and optimisation workstreams, including the development and maintenance of PowerBI dashboards.
  • supporting the Capacity team by perform capacity modelling/assessment or analytics tasks.
  • use of advanced data analytics techniques (e.g. data science methodologies) to perform data research and produce meaningful insights for business decision making.

 

What you’ll bring to the role

To ensure your success in this role, you will need:

  • Tertiary qualification, preferred in finance or administration or other related field with emphasis on data analytics or information systems
  • 1 year plus experience in planning or data analysis
  • Strong results orientation with a track record of achieving superior results.
  • A team contributor, with demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with peers.
  • Working knowledge of SQL/DAX or any other database related query language, including python, etc. gained from university study or work experience.
  • Good working knowledge of Excel
  • Experience in operating in a complex multi-stakeholder environment.
  • Strong attention to detail skills.
  • Good relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to learn a new discipline quickly and apply it competently across the role accountabilities.
  • Agility and the ability to adapt to fast changing environment, including fast changing of priorities and deadlines, and working under pressure.
