What you will be doing
Reporting to the Enterprise Risk Manager, you will support functional business unit areas as the risk subject matter expert. This will involve providing governance and advice to embed AKL’s Enterprise Risk Management strategy, policy, and framework across the organisation.
The Enterprise Risk Business Partner is an exciting role to positively contribute to AKL’s risk culture by providing technical expertise in managing and reporting on the implementation of the enterprise risk management framework, systems, processes, policies, and procedures. This is a key role to support integration of risk management with strategy execution and business performance to empower effective decision-making and uplift our risk maturity to ensure AKL’s movement towards a customer centric approach is achieved.
We are looking for a Business Partner, who can bring a continuous improvement mindset and technical expertise to embed risk literacy and increase risk capability across the business.
Your key responsibilities are:
- Effective business partnering on all things risk management through risk assessments, risk education and maturing the risk culture of the organisation
- Providing advice and guidance as the subject matter expert to internal and external stakeholders
- Supporting the governance reporting process for the management committee and board sub-committee
- Administer the Enterprise Risk Management system (Quantate)
- Provide guidance to the business on enterprise risk management framework, policies and procedures
- Assist the functional business unit areas to measure their risk management maturity and reporting
- Coordinate and facilitate the risk & control self-assessment process to ensure risk and control registers for each business unit are updated and maintained

What you will bring to the role

To ensure your success in this role, you will need:
- 7+ years’ experience in an Enterprise Risk Management environment, ideally within the construction or aviation environment
- Tertiary qualification (Degree) in either Risk Management, Business and Commerce - CA, Science, Aviation, Engineering
- Demonstrated experience in risk management as a subject matter expert
- Continuous Improvement and analytical mindset
- Experience in identifying, assessing, and managing risks and opportunities across organisation
- Governance reporting experience
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate and influence effectively at all levels of an organisation
- Excellent relationship building skills to work collaboratively with a diverse group of stakeholders
