Maintenance Technician (Mechanical) – Engineering Tradesperson

What you will be doing

We are looking for an experienced Maintenance Technician to join our team at Auckland Airport. The purpose of this role is to utilise your strong/proven mechanical experience and become part of a diverse team responsible for the asset management of some of Auckland Airport’s key infrastructure assets. This role is a full-time permanent position, working Monday to Friday, 8-hour daytime shifts.

Your key responsibilities are:

• To undertake preventative, corrective and/or responsive maintenance work for Auckland Airport assets and manage and maintain all maintenance records (CMMS)
• Conduct asset preventative and predictive inspections. Upon requirement, conduct first response to assets and facility faults.
• Carry out first line Mechanical works and minor building works but not limited to, fault finding to compliance, regulations and standards or greater but not limited to Aero bridges, Building services and Isolations and Utilities for AIAL.
• Work and participate to assist the Asset Care Planning Team with Planning of works and tasks to ensure minimum disruption to our customers, guests and stakeholders.
• Active participation in the Engineering Services on call requirements.

To ensure your success in this role, you will need:

• NZ Trade Certificate, Equivalent levels NZQA or Transferable Overseas Equivalent in Mechanical Engineering (Maintenance Fitter & Turner/Welder)
• Strong communication skills and computer savvy
• The ability to work both in a team environment and autonomously when required.
• Have an understanding of Industrial Maintenance including and understanding of current standards and legislation.
• High attention to detail and strong problem-solving capability
