What you will be doing

Our Infrastructure programme of work presents opportunities to be involved in a wide variety of exciting projects across the airport Precinct.  The development portfolio, encompassing both vertical and horizontal infrastructure, has over $5B of work within a fully operational environment, and this presents a unique and exciting challenge. A cornerstone of our success will be effective management of Risk across the numerous moving parts within our portfolio capital works programme.

Our Infrastructure business unit will develop and deliver our capital works projects across the Airport Precinct. Projects range in complexity and scale from smaller, rapid response projects to major projects with significant capital investment including the brand-new Domestic Jet Terminal to be fully integrated into the International Terminal, airfield development, precinct-wide utilities development, and transport projects.

We have a newly created role for a capital works specialist Risk Manager who will ensure that risk and opportunity are rigorously identified, analysed and actively managed within the Infrastructure business unit, and that these activities are coordinated with and visible within the broader airport enterprise risk management framework.

Your key responsibilities are:

Programme and Project Framing

  • Implementation of effective risk management systems, tools and processes;
  • Providing training, coaching and guidance to staff and suppliers;
  • Ensuring that supplier agreements and execution plans provide effective risk and opportunity management for their activities;
  • Maintaining a deep understanding of projects and how they interface with broader (for example operational, stakeholder, customer) elements of the business to ensure that a well-informed, holistic view of risk and opportunity management is implemented.

Implementation

  • Maintaining continual oversight of end-to-end project risk and opportunity management across all project development phases;
  • Conducting risk and opportunity reviews and assessing potential risk exposure;
  • Actively contributing to the management and review of risk registers, risk mitigations and opportunities;
  • Leading and managing risk workshops, project reviews and analysis on behalf of project and programme managers, including Quantified Risk Analysis (QRA) modelling;
  • Ensuring coordination and alignment with the broader enterprise risk management.

Reporting

  • Ensuring the provision of appropriate and accurate monthly risk and opportunity reports;
  • Providing risk and opportunity transparency to Governance forums, ensuring escalation of risks and opportunities where appropriate, and that mitigations are committed to and tracked.
