About the Role:
The Infrastructure Communications Lead is responsible for developing and executing communications for AKL’s Infrastructure Programme. You’ll play a pivotal role in ensuring communications are clear, effective, and aligned with stakeholder plans and organisational goals. You’ll act as the main point of contact for stakeholder communications relating to infrastructure projects as well as supporting media relations. The right candidate will build rapport and work alongside stakeholders on a daily basis.

- Get to grips with the complex infrastructure programme and help your internal and external stakeholders understand it.
- Protect and enhance AKL’s reputation through this time of unprecedented transformation and disruption.
- Find and tell the great stories happening across the airport precinct every day.
- Influence and support senior leaders across the business to provide excellent support to our stakeholders.
What You’ll Do:
- Work with our Stakeholder Managers to develop comprehensive communications for infrastructure projects, ensuring alignment with organisational objectives and stakeholder needs.
- Identify key messaging, communication channels, and target audiences for effective project disruption communication and engagement.
- Create, edit, and oversee the production of high-quality communication materials, including press releases, reports, newsletters, website content, social media posts, external presentation material and project updates.
- Responsible for delivery of activations in the airport environment to inform stakeholders about our infrastructure transformation programme.
- Ensure all content is accurate, timely, and adheres to branding and communication standards.
- Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other infrastructure team members to gather project information, understand key milestones, and identify communication needs.
- Work alongside our external communications and media team to tell the AKL brand story.
About You: (Skills required)
- Proven experience (typically 5+ years) in communications, public relations, or a related role.
- Demonstrated success in developing and implementing communication strategies and managing stakeholder relationships.
- Ability to analyse data and feedback to inform communication strategies and tactics.
- Infrastructure experience would be a bonus but is not a requirement.
