Governance Advisor

Our Strategic Planning business unit is responsible for the medium and long-term planning of Auckland Airport. As New Zealand’s gateway to the world, Auckland Airport’s Investment and Pricing Team is translating AKL’s business strategy and long-term master plan into a robust capital plan of projects to meet future demand and support growth.

The Team is tasked with overseeing and coordinating enterprise-wide governance of capital investment decisions. In this newly created role, the Governance Advisor’s role is to coordinate the processes for AKL to make considered investment decisions through efficient governance processes. This includes coordination and administration of the process for papers, meetings, minutes, and coordination with leadership team review of papers escalating to the Board.

What you will be doing

Your key responsibilities are to:

• Manage and coordinate capital investment governance across the enterprise
• Support the Head of Airport Investment and Pricing in the coordination of governance forums and meetings
• Partner with stakeholders across the business to assist them in following enterprise governance processes
• Coordinate to ensure that papers received from across the business provide the required information to inform decision making
• Support project teams across the business high quality advice related to governance processes

What you’ll bring to the role

You may have a background in the government sector, infrastructure or transport industries, or an environment with equal size and complexity to AKL.

To ensure your success in this role, you will need:

• 10 years + experience in client or corporate environment
• Experience with the administration of boards or governance forums in a previous role advantageous
• Advanced Administration and Microsoft office skills
• Excellent rapport building skills and ability to work with a variety of stakeholders
• Experience in supporting and managing system and process changes
• Proven ability to build trust and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
