About the role

The Building Compliance Manager is responsible for managing the building compliance activity for Auckland Airports key operational buildings, including the International and Domestic Terminals, ensuring Auckland Airport meets its owner obligations in this regard.

Some of your key responsibilities will be:

  • Manage and maintain a register of the key operational buildings.
  •  Manage and administer the relevant Compliance Schedules.
  • Manage and maintain effective records of relevant Inspections, Audits and any Enforcement Notices.
  • Manage the engagement and management of service providers who undertake relevant BWOF inspection activity.
  • Monitor the ongoing maintenance of Specified Systems to ensure appropriate practice is being followed.
  • Prepare procedures and guidance to support relevant staff.
  • Provide a regular Building Compliance Schedule Status Update to leadership reporting on the relevant Total Buildings Inspected, Overall Compliance Rate and Non-Compliance Issues Identified.
  • Foster and maintain relationships with key compliance and consenting teams of the local Authority, Auckland Council, and ensure transparent communication between both parties.
  • Support improved organization and alignment of building consent documentation for capital programme works leading to shorter Council review and compliance certification durations.

To ensure your success in this role, you will need:

  • Tertiary qualification in a related discipline.
  • NZQA Level 4 Certificate in Building Regulation or equivalent
  • 5 years minimum relevant experience within the building regulation or building industry
  • A strong understanding of the Building Act, Building Regulations, Compliance Schedules and Specified Systems in a New Zealand context
